Cypress Building Co. was built on more than experience, it was built on faith, family, and a desire to serve others well.

Originally from California, the Avila family made the move to Alabama in 2021 and quickly fell in love with the Guntersville community. It’s a place we’re proud to call home and one we’re committed to serving for the long term.

We, Omar and Shelley Avila, met in Bible School and were married in 2015. Since then, we’ve been blessed with six wonderful sons. Our goal is to live and work in a way that honors Christ in everything we do.

Omar began his career in construction in 2015, developing a strong foundation in both craftsmanship and project execution. Over the years, that experience has grown into a passion for building homes and creating spaces where families can thrive.

Outside of work, we enjoy spending time together as a family, especially around sports; Formula 1 and Arsenal FC being a couple of our favorites. We also genuinely enjoy building relationships, making new friends, and being a part of the community.

The vision of Cypress Building Co. goes beyond building homes. We believe business can be a vehicle for something greater. Our desire is to use what we’ve been given to support ministries around the world, serve others, and stand for causes that matter, including the protection of life.
